Looking for a Blue Z97 motherboard

Hey lads,

I'm looking to upgrade a good chunk of my gaming rig. A lot of my setup is going to be blue themed (Blue LED lights, RGB keyboard/mice, etc.)

I'm going to be rebuilding my PC into a new case, adding new components and such. I would like the main overall theme of my PC to be blue, and so I'm looking for a new Z97 motherboard that goes with the blue theme.

I definitely need a Z97 motherboard, because I run an i7 4790K, and don't plan on upgrading any time soon.

My current motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97-HD3, so I'd like to find one that has similar/better features. I'd rather keep the price reasonably low, but I don't mind if I have to spend a couple $100 AUD.

Thanks :)

ASRock has some of the slickest looking blue motherboards IMO. Also usually come packed with loads of features on a cheaper price than some other brands but their quality is very decent these days.

Yeah I agree. They look pretty cool. I think I'm going to go with what TheRandomness suggested and buy the Asrock Z97 Pro4. I found it for around $165 AUD, which is around what I was expecting to pay, and I do like the features. I was also considering the ASRock Z97 Extreme6, but its around $250 AUD, and I don't think the additional features would benefit me enough to justify buying it...

Yep that's a solid motherboard and it's packed with pretty much everything most will need and more.

Edit: Keep in mind that the m2 slot is x2 so that means it's limited to about 700-800mb/s. Which is great, but you won't be able to take full advantage of the more expensive drives, if you ever want to get one. You could always use PCIe, though.
