Budget Modular PSU

If i am on a budget and want upgradibility with modularity, is it worth getting a modular 650w PSU now or getting non modular low capacity PSU one now and upgrading later

 

now I am getting a GTX 960 and later going to upgrade to GTX 980ti

I am getting an i5-6500 and then getting i7-6700k later 

 

IS IT WORTH?

If you can afford to get a high quality one to start then do that, as it will be more efficient and a lot less likely to totally fail and die on you than something super cheap. Here's a list of a ton of good quality PSU's (not all of which are super expensive) that won't blow up your system.

Yes, a 650W PSU is fine for both now and later, however I doubt you're gonna find the funds to jump from a 960 to a 980ti within the remaining time this generation of Nvidia cards has remaining. I could be wrong though. Check out the PSU whitelist in my sig for some good PSUs. I'd recommend the EVGA G2 for what you want from a PSU.

Invest in a quality PSU now, this is one area where people often think they can cheap out but it really is good to invest in a high quality power supply that will provide clean power to your parts and have a lower chance of failure or housing remodel due to fire.

 

The 980ti requires a 600W power supply (according to various manufacturers) and the newer card that are coming out will likely have an even lower power consumption.

what gpu would i get as the money going to the PSU is really gonna rack up the price with the price of the gpu (in GBP)

You would get whatever the next generation of Nvidia cards 980ti equivalent is.
