Which card to buy?

StickaN

Hello! So I'm getting terrible micro stuttering when in games and think that the GPU is the problem (GTX 660 Ti 2GB), and I'm thinking of buying a new card since I need one for future games that are coming, any ideas? I don't wanna spend 2 thousand dollars on something that I will need to change is a few years.

EDIT: My budget is around 600-700 USD.

We need too know your budget.

If it was just about upgrade I would say wait for polaris and pascal.

But since your GPU is broken I guess you don't want to wait another few months to buy new GPU.

Let us know how much money are you prepared to pay for GPU, and comunity will provide you best GPU decision.

I suspect either 960/380

or 970/390

Oh well then go for R9 Fury X or GTX 980 (Ti) if you can get them for that price.

If you can stretch to a 980ti and hold off from going above 1080p gaming, that card will last many many years

Get the R9 380 or 380X.

Or if you really don't care about money get the R9 390X/FuryX.

To be fair, the 380 point is fair. The extra cash for the 390x, or the Fury X is less justifiable.

Yeah it's true, plus a 390 would be a wiser choice over a 970, but I just saw the sig and made a funny

Your a little low on cpu power, it could also be that that´s causing the stuttering.

All you 980 Ti people, won't that be bottlenecked by an i7-930?

Yeah, just recommended a cpu upgrade.

It shouldn't be.

It's old version of i7, but still decent.

CPU heavy games might bottleneck it, but on most games GPU will have 100% load while CPU around 70% if you ask me.

I mean, single core performance is similar to the 8320. I still say it´s a bottleneck.

Depends on game ... in some of games yeah, but in some there shouldn't be CPU problem.

Since OP have money (I assume so because ha can spend 600$ on GPU only xD ), I belive he will upgrade to i7 6700k in next year.
