Recently installed my brand new swiftech h220x. It is running like a Dream. Went from 40 to 20 degrees at idle. It is quiet. It is sexy. However the uv blue die they included isn't doing it for me. I died it and everything and it still isn't that dark of a blue color. It doesn't glow and it is kind of faint. Would replacing the coolant with a blue uv or pastel coolant fix this issue? I want the tubes to look more blue and less clear if possible. Also. Is switching the coolant hard to do?

well its supposed to glow only if youre using uv light. it stays quite clear. thats the point of uv coolant. switching coolant is easy, just keep the waterlevel over the pumpintake while refilling and youre good. if you want just deep blue color thats also uv reactive just buy ekwb ek-coolant uv blue, its cheap, good and looks like what youre looking for.

well the die that came with it is uv blue from mayhem. So in theory it should glow right? and why is it meant to be quite clear?

Dyes only color the fluid or coolant so if the orginal fluid is clear then it will stay clear but if t was opaque like their pastel line that would take more dye but Stay opaque. If it's the UV blue due you need UV LED's for the fluid to give off that glowing or light up effect.

So if it stays clear what's the point of dying it? And if I have uv blue from mayhem using uv lights should work then?

Dyes still change the color of the fluid not the translucent of opacity of it, but in terms of the UV properties if you have UV lights the fluid should glow.

What blue uv lights would you recommend?

UV lights aren't exactly blue but they carry a purple tint due to the color spectrum as they are between true UV and purple/violet. Some good optins are Addoncustoms or Cable Mods which both carry UV based LED's.

So should I go with a uv light AND a blue led strip then?

You can if you like but you can't have the two lights on at the same time as the UV effect is greatest in a dark case, with something like that it would let you have a blue LED and UV mode option.

It might be a bust then. I already have three cougar blue led fans. They don't give off a huge amount of light though

Personally, I think you should go for pastel blue from Mayhems and mix that with the UV blue dye you already have. Get some UV LED strips, and boom, you'll have the best of both worlds.

The problem is a already died the fluid with the uv blue die

The UV lights will still work but may not have as good of a UV effect at a distance, unless you have the ability to turn off the LED fans.

Blue LED strips will still look nice if your don't want UV, but what I mean by at a distance is the UV LED if it was far away from the tubes since the effect gets less the further away the UV lights are.

They should come back in stock hopefully soon, however NCIX looks like they have some in stock still:
