if i want to move all my programs but not my os to my secondary hhd how would i do that ?

Copy the program files folder (s) and the hidden appdata folder. You might not even need the appdata folder depending on the program as it might just rewrite the contents but it wouldn't hurt to carry that over too. Windows used to be really but picky about registry entries for programs but, at least from what I've experienced, it seems to have loosened up on that rule
