Help Internet keeps messing up

Ok, so sometimes (quite frequently actually) I loose completely WAN connection. I use an ASUS router 3in1. The firmware of the router says then that the networking cable is unplugged (though it's plugged in). I know how to fix it, becuase when I unplug the LAN to my PC and reset the router i have conection again. My question is why does it keep on happening? And if there is a way to prevent it? Thanks in advance.

okay :D might try a shorter cable with laptop instead (if you have) to speed up the troubleshooting.
