Upload speed constantly changing

So lately, I have noticed when I do a speed test my upload speed is always different.

For example, this morning I did a speed test via speedtest.net, and I got these results:

I just did this test again, and got these results:

Does anybody know why? Thanks

To clarify, It always stays around 3-4 Mb/s or 25mb/s upload

Probably because more people are using the upload speed at that time.

Quite odd, considering my upload speed used to always be a solid 20Mb/s.

Ask your ISP.

Just did another speed test - Gave me this:

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2969312950

Could it be usage, or also my cable modem? I have been having problems with it disconnecting at random times of the day, with my router working fine and my modem just not providing any type of connection. It doesn't work until I restart it, of course.

I read somewhere that it could be because I have a dynamic IP. Now, this is because my new router was set up to get a dynamic IP and not static. I previously had my router set up for static and had no problems other than it dying.

What do you think?

A lot of ISPs do upload shaping during peak times, its pretty normal. If you do a lot of uploading its better to schedule them over night in the early ours, otherwise standard internet usage doesn't really need high upload speeds.

Arch Linux on Samsung 840 EVO 120GB: Startup finished in 1.334s (kernel) + 224ms (userspace) = 1.559s | U mad windoze..?
