Currently I have a HD 7950 Boost from Sapphire with 1 DP to VGA adapter from club 3D and 1 DVI-I to vga adapter.

I'm thinking on upgrading to a R9 390 or maybe wait for polaris but I want to make sure I can hook up my 2 monitors.

So the question: Can I just buy a second DP to vga adapter and use that one or does it have to be a HDMI to vga adapter?

Extra info:

- I know vga is outdated bla bla bla but my GF would kill me if I would buy 2 new monitors

- besides the above fact I only play games at 1080p which is perfect enough for vga

- I know I will have to buy an active adapter not a passive

well why not use the DVI and DP to vga adapter? why buy a HDMI when you already have two adapters?

To the first question: There are no R9 390's that have a DVI-I port all of them come with a DVI-D port

To the second question: Since I won't be able to use a DVI-I to VGA adapter anymore I will need to buy a second one. So should I get a DP to vga or HDMI to vga?

1) well i suppose...

2) whichever fits your bill i guess, since they're going to be equally costly lol, get one that you dont have yet, incase a card in the future doesnt have 2 of the same port (in this case, the HDMI -> VGA i guess)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
