Hi,

so task manager shows that 5 GB of my ram is cached, and i only have 1 gb free. When i play a game, the 'free' ram goes down to 20Mb.

Is this normal?

We're talking about paging files on your HDD/SSD here.

Don't worry about it, it's a virtual RAM (of course MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH slower than real RAM) stored on your hard drive. You could disable it if you felt confident about your RAM amount (like, if you had 16-32GB of RAM and decided to free HDD space). But don't worry about it.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

Yes, when you hit RAM limit Windows is writing files on your HDD adopting the dedicated space as virtual RAM (also it is caching stuff there from time to time). Slowing the performance of your system if it has to happen, hovewer... Disabling this is possible but if an application does NOT fit into your physical RAM and you have no virtual RAM that Windows could address as last-resort, you're gonna crash like Titanic.

Thanks, I like it too. Still plays everything but DX11 games on low at least.
