Asus laptop

Hello, I have a Asus x550jk-xx116d laptop and my main problem is the HDD. It is a 1TB HDD at 5400rpm which is the only thing that I don't like at my laptop cuz it's slow.

Can someone advice me what to do about it? I was looking for an SSD but in the same time I need space too and a larger SSD is expensive for me. I'm thinking about buying a 240GB SSD and the HDD to be external with a rack which I don't like at all. Are there any thought about something else?

Another thing, I'd like to expand the memory ram (I have 4 Gb now), any recommandations?

You could get a Hybrid HDD which has some of its storage on an SSD.
