So here's a question for people with far more knowledge than me. If I have an HP Pavilion DM-4 laptop with a Core i5-450m processor and 4 GB of ram, could I use an external graphics card set up over a USB 2.0 connection? Mind you, not a top-of-the-line GTX 980, but maybe a GTX 650? Or some other lower-end but decent card? This is more for curiosity and general insanity than true usability, but it makes me wonder nonetheless.

Current Rig: ASUS Prime Z390-P, Core i7 9700k, 48GB DDR4 3200 G.Skill Ripjaws V RAM, EVGA RTX 2080 Super Black, 512 GB NVME SSD boot drive, 2TB HDD, 360mm CoolerMaster MasterLiquid AIO, 1200W Rosewill Photon power supply

Former Rig (RIP 11-29-19): Cyberpower Fangbook 4 Xtreme   CPU: Intel i7-6700K   GPU: Nvidia 980m 8GB   RAM: 24GB DDR4 2133   SSD: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO   Main Drive: 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 300

Never ever.

Only USB C or Thunderbolt 3.0 (idk if 3.0) can do it

Gotcha. I figured it'd be too much of a bottleneck, just wanted to confirm. Thanks!
