CPU running at 100% idle

Cpu is running at 100% with no applications open. I the fan is jerking and not spinning normally.

open the task manager and sort for cpu usage

possibly an application hogging all the resouses, or maybe a bitminer virus?

Check your power settings and make sure they're on balanced instead of performance.

my bitminer point may still stand though

its when a virus uses you cpu to bitcoin or whatever mine and send the coins to the hacker

could be ok for liek (as an example)10 mins, then the application could start up again.

make sure of that
