CD/DVD Drive Toxic?

I have an old cd drive from 2006 and i want to take it apart. 

Are there any toxic components in it?

Probably lead and other heavy metals like cadmium. That said, as long as you aren't destroying the thing into powder or burning it, it's probably fine. Just doing a dis-assembly won't expose you to anything you would need to be concerned about touching or breathing.
