Ever since I got windows 10 my disk usage keeps going to 100% I tried disabling certain processes but everytime I open or download something it lags like crazy because my disk usage goes to 100% please help

I have this problem to and it is on an SSD. The PC will kinda freeze and I am not allowed to open task manager till the spike stops. Then randomly it will happen again. I have a scanned the PC with Malware bytes before and nothing showed up (actually right before this post).

Windows does a bunch of stuff when you install it. I would let it do it's thing overnight (disable sleep). Backup your stuffjust in case. If the problem persists, then it can be a problem with the SATA controller drivers.

How do I update SATA controller drivers? I have never heard of this before.

Every hardware on your system, and embedded in your motherboard needs drivers, just that some hardware, are standard to a point that you the OS just has it built in, and you just don't need one, for example your CPU. You can find the drivers from your SATA controller at your motherboard manufacture website. They might be identified as motherboard chipset drivers as well.

My motherboard doesn't have drivers for the SATA controller. :(

Install the first and last one, and restart your computer.

No problem, let us know if it works or not.

Yeah tried and the Windows 7 drivers are specifically for Windows 7. Not even running it in compatibility mode worked. :(

I still have the spikes after scanning with Malwarebytes and restarting. The only thing I can think of is it is a faulty SSD. :( As my extra space internal HDD does not have the 10 second spikes of 100% usage.
