Heyo people,

I've got a few questions for you.  Also, I'm new to the forums so please don't hate me if I made this thread in the wrong place.

Since I'm starting off YouTube and I need a good processor that can render videos easily, should I go with an i5 6600K (no hyper threading) or an i7 6700K (hyper threading).

Will a 980 have enough power to record 1080p60fps (Minecraft and other games) while staying above 60 FPS?  Will I have to get a 980Ti for that.

Will I notice a difference between 3.5 and 4 GHz?

Also, if I get a 144Hz monitor, can my 980 or 980Ti handle 1080p60fps recording will my computer is still shove 144fps or should I stick with 60?

Thanks a ton!

980 is overkill for Minecraft. I average about 250 FPS (depending on entities) with my 970 and 4670k. You might want to go with the Xeon 1231 v3 for hyperthreading for less than the 6700k which would be better for your editing.

When running obs or xplit its not. those tend to be vary resource heavy.

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

But are you recording in 1080p60fps when you get those frames?

If you plan on playing mostly minecraft, get a 970 and save money, a 6600K will be fine but the 6700K will be way better for editing. Again you have to think about what is worth it and what the actual loads will be, how often do you plan on making videos? Will you be playing other high demanding games?

I wouldn't go for 144Hz just because it's not required and 60fps offers perfectly smooth gameplay anyway

Hopefully streaming 5 days a week and putting out 2 videos a week with every fourth week, an hour special.  I'll stick with 60Hz and I'll probably get a 980.  This pic is gonna have to last though.

Get the 6700K then, stick with a 980 and not a 980ti as it wont be long before some new cards come out that blitz the 980ti and you'll be wanting the new ones xD just make sure you get a nice cooling system and get all them GHz you can out of it. While you may not notice a huge difference between 3.5 and 4GHz there will be a fairly big one. My CPU was stock 3.5GHz and when I overclocked to 4 I seemed to have far less lag, just everything had that little bit extra it needed.

It's not so much about how many fans, the case comes with 2, which is good enough, what you need is a good cpu cooler, maybe a cm hyper 212
