Hey all, Let me start off explaining, this is for the business I work for, we are a medium size HVAC company based in Phx, Az. I am the IT Director(and the only IT person) for the company, I took over the position about 6 months ago with very little time(2 days) to meet with the old IT Director and have him fill me in with as much as he could, which was not a lot. Now to the issue, they had some developer build an iOS application  for our technicians to use in the field with our pricing and general information, it is not an extremely complicated application to me its a glorified picture book , also its extremely large, when a technician downloads the application it then downloads every single image file(which is every page) and ends up being around 12gb of storage(ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS).    It now seems that the licensing or whatever apple calls it to have access to the enterprise app has ended. I was lucky enough to actually get a response from the old IT guy and he let me know that not only does the app need to be re-licensed but the code must be updated, and rebuilt do to changes with xcode and apple iOS functions, and that last time he did this he found a work around using old libraries(common for him, he never did fix anything just made it work, and waited for it to not work...(ugh story of my life now). I am also looking at other companies that deal with mobile applications(although I dont think to many will be willing to work on something someone else built). I do know several coding languages but am an avid hater of all things iOS , nor do i have the time to learn a new language in a timely manner. This is something I need done quickly.

What I am looking for:

  • Someone that can take our existing app and update all functions/code
  • Someone who knows how to get enterprise app license
  • Someone who is over 18
  • Someone who can show me an example of applications they built

Of course , My Company is willing to pay for work done, and once I find someone we can discuss that further.

Thanks all

If you're familiar with other coding stuff, could you not just make a simple website that does what the app does (but without it taking up 12GB on their phones)? Or is it private info you do not want public?

I don not want it public, I have been working on a multiplatform application using the Ionic Framework, I just do not simpl have the time to dedicate myself to completing the app at this time. I am managing 13 servers over 75 computers, in the process of trying to upgrade to a virtual server of all previous 13 servers, whilst dealing with the every day problems. Just simply dont have the time.

I see. I won't be able to help you, I really don't like Xcode and therefore never really got into coding objective-c/swift...

Haha I dont blame ya, I dont like it either.  Ionic is pretty awesome, I knew very little javascript when starting the project, and I wish I had more time to work on it because it is way better then the current app, just not ready for all the techs to use and have not debugged it much.

So just to update this topic and close it out, I contacted a local app developer, and he helped me out quite a bit. He let me know that if I wanted to get the app working all i had to do was find what apple developer account is linked to the application and pay the $300 to have the app on the market nad the app would be usable again. Luckily I was able to find out what email and was able to login to the account after resetting the password. I didnt bring my ipad home , so I have not been able to test the app yet, hopefull yit works. As of now(and hopefully never) I do not need any xcode developer, Thanks :)

If you're still looking for someone, I might be able to help you. I developed a couple of apps (look in my signature). They're not the prettiest, I'm a programmer, not a designer!

I never uploaded an app for an  enterprise license, but it's probably similar to regular app. I'm not a professional app developer, I learned by myself, but from what you describe, I think I can help.

And please pardon my english, I'm french canadian!

Thanks, I found someone locally, he actually tried to walk me through the process but after a couple calls of it still not working I opted to just have him handle it all. Turns out no coding needs to be done, just all the certificates and provisioning profiles need to be redone which I did but will expire in about 2 weeks, so I would have to redo them all. Thanks again though, I will keep it in mind in case I need any help in the future
