Hi^^

Yesterday I experienced some problems with my HDD, as nearly every program that is installed on the HDD freezed. Windows was still running, but everything that needed the HDD didn't work (Desktop etc.) I tried to turn off the pc which didn't work, so I had to force it by pressing the power button. It turned off but rebooted instantly (Which is something it never did before when turning off by pressing the button)

When the system rebooted, there were some strange noises, but I can't tell if they come from the HDD or something else (mainboard?)

I recorded this (and yes, the fan sounds like it is very loud^^) You can hear this "knock"-sound at about 0:33 and onwards.

I checked the HDD with CrystalDisk but there appeared to be no problem. I can still use the pc like I do everyday, but it is very possible that the HDD kind of "disconnects" on some random point while using the pc.
Do you guys have any idea what this could be or how I can find out wether it's the HDD or the board?

I cant tell anything with the video.

A easy way to ensure that the disk is fine is by running a disk check.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Tried running several disk checks, but that did not fix the problem.

I would have hoped that the sound in the video would be a bit better. You can hear it, but it's hard if you don't know what you're looking for.

It sounds like a optical drive trying to read a disc (there is none) and then there's this knocking (this process repeats itself about 4 times) I would guess that a mainboard is not really able to produce sound like that, right?

sounds fine from what i can hear, the noises at 0.35 is just the disc starting to spin and it doing some like startup check or however you call it, also if it is a seagate it can be really loud. as far as your problem i think it might just have been an early sign of your hdd dying or it could just aswell be nothing more then an error or something slowing down temporarly. if your computer is running fine now it *shouldn't* be something to worry to much about unless it repeats itself

Well it does repeat :/
My first thought of this sound was a disc starting to spin, but the drive is empty. So it really is a sound probably produced by something that shouldn't do this.

At the moment I am trying not to start the pc in case any damage concerning the HDD would get worse, I've already lost all my data once and I do not have a backup yet.

The main problem I see is that the HDD somehow disconnected while I've been using it and I see no reason why it should do it. The chances are probably low, but is it possible that a cable is damaged?

sounds really wierd if that would be the case, if it repeats then might be a sign of your harddrive dying

I am now thinking of buying a new 2 TB drive from a local store, but I have never heard of that brand (i.norys). This drive is about 20€ less than products from Toshiba and Seagate. Is it worth a try to save the money or is it "risky" buying this product?

Please post all values and not only the top ones.

The shown values are not indicating any errors.

Try to use a different sata port on the Mainboard and a different connector from the Power supply (preferably from a different cable)

I guess I found the problem ^^

As I've said I did check all the cables, but somehow I didn't see, that one of those pins lost connection. Some minutes ago I moved the pc and the cable finally fell out so that I could see it.

I guess this explains everything, right?

Kind of. If the hard drive doesn't have enough power, it obviously can't spin up.
That's, why i asked you to check all cables.
