Nvidia GPU for ~220e

TheSlovakGuy
Go to solution Solved by Bl00dgod,

dont go for nvidia with such a low budget

better get a r9 380 for ~200 bucks that should work fine and perform better than a 960

So the thing is that my friend wants to buy a new GPU. He now has GTX 750Ti (on AMD CPU). So what card should he buy? His budget is ~220 euros. He is considering 960.

"Where will you ram so much RAM?"

I wouldn't recommend the R9 380 with a weak CPU

If he has an FX 6300 or Athlon 860K it won't be an issue - only FX 4000 can be a problem.

His friend. Not him. Also, the m means a mobile CPU aka laptop.

Even with a FX 6300, a overclocked 960 might be better.

Games will still tax the CPU - regardless of GPU

But with a slower CPU the 960 beats the r9 380 doesn't it?

Nope, it doesn't.
The benchmark happens to use a CPU intensive game, what isn't realistic in a real life scenario where you play a greater variety of games.

The 380 is a better card.

I thought crysis 3 was GPU intensive (at least according to my knowledge).

It is, but more CPU intensive in comparison with other games.
