I saw a Nexus 6P hard mod for cooling over on xda.
I'm curious about will it work on the OP2.

Both phones have the same chipset but the manufacturers are different so i was thinking they might have a different approach towards the same problem.
I want to be sure if it will work before tearing down my device beacause i dont want to void my warranty for no reason.
I hope someone here might help..

Ah. Then you might want to look up guides on how to disassemble the 6P.

I don't have a 6P let alone tried something like this with my phones.

Dude i wanted to know if it will work on an OP2 as it works on 6P.
I have an OP2 not a 6P.

Just a note it appears to have 2 panels of curved plastic. As you know plastic is an insulator...

Not sure how you're going to get heat out the back when they are curved.

As can be seen they didn't even bother putting any thermal interface material on the chipset's metal plate.

what i was thinking was to get some of those cooling pads and replace it with the pink rubber kind of thing used on the chip..
i might not apply the thermal paste on metal plate unless i'm sure it won't break anything..
