G-SYNC questions Asus ROG PG278Q

So I just ordered myself the Asus ROG PG278Q 1440p 144Hz monitor with G-SYNC. As I "just" have GTX970 i think I won't be able to rock this resolutions with 144hz.

Therefore my questions:

1. Does G-SYNC also work with resolutions lower than 1440p, like 1080p?

2. To make it work I have to set V-SYNC to G-SYNC in the controlpanel and disable V-SYNC ingame right?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X PBO GPU: Asus Strix RTX 3090 OC Mobo: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600Mhz CL17

G-SYNC is resolution-independent.  It doesn't care what res the panel's running at.

The G-SYNC and V-SYNC controls in the nVidia panel are independent.  What nVidia wants you to do is run them both simultaneously (it's what I do).  V-SYNC will keep the card capped at the panel's highest refresh rate, and G-SYNC will keep the card and panel in sync should the card not be able to draw frames fast enough.  It's completely seamless, smooth, and quite enjoyable.

Leave the V-SYNC disabled in game.
