Possible Silly Idea

Hello all!

I had a (possibly) crazy idea. I have an HD6850 lying around. I was wondering if I could build a system for Folding@home for 150 or less. Maybe used parts? Or does the CPU for Folding@home not matter at all and I can just get away with something like a Athlon 5350? I dunno, I'm somewhat clueless.

Does your CPU effect Folding though?

folding uses both your cpu and gpu independently

used q6600s are cheap

if you find one with a mobo and ram, you're golden

I had a 960 and 290x in the same system, with both drivers installed.

It worked fine with no conflicts
