I recently upgraded my processor to an FX 8350 and am running an R9 270X at present. I'd like to upgrade my video card but I'd like some advice on the best match for this particular processor to avoid bottlenecking and maybe spending too much and getting little benefit. I play mostly MMORPG's but may branch out into some shooters. Any advice would be appreciated.

Honestly that card is fine. I would of got a i5 when you upgraded your CPU.

But a r9 380 or 390

if you can do crossfire on your motherboard i would an 2nd graphics card

Thanks for advice and yes id have to change out my mb to go intel....dont have the budget at moment to do that plus get a processor unfortunately....I thought you should spend the majority of your budget on the Gpu?

You should but you need to make sure you dont do what i do, upgrade your gpu and not your cpu as you will have wasted your money due to a bottleneck if you spend too much on your gpu and not enough on your cpu

CPU: Intel I5 4690K | GPU: Asus R9 280x | PSU: Evga 600w | RAM:8GB DDR3 | HDD: WD 1TB | HDD: WD 500GB | SSD: Sandisk 120GB

Either a 380X or a 390, avoid ASUS and Gigabyte, MSI and Sapphire are the best, of the two Sapphire is better.

Pixelbook Go i5 Pixel 4 XL

@cbm6055 You did right. For gaming especially you shouldn't notice much of a difference from an 8350 and anything intel (yes im generalizing.... You know what I mean)

A 270x will not come close to bottle necking an 8350. Upgrading the GPU is definitely the correct path here. (if you do indeed want to upgrade).

I would advise selling the 270x if you can and pool your money and buy the best GPU you can.

1 higher card is usually preferable to two lower end ones.

what budget are you looking at for your new GPU?

you will benefit most from a CPU upgrade if you play MMO's.

a 380 is going to be ~bottlenecked in most MMO's without render scaling on.

you made the wrong choice brother.

MMO's need strong core clocks and IPC - most don't benefit from an abundance of cores.

Pretty much this. You should of gone with an i5. Can you return the FX8350?

I wouldn't invest in any GPU until you upgrade that CPU, it would be a waste.
