suddenly laggy pc

ive been playing battelfield for some time, but today i sat down to game. but when i launched the game, it lagged even while launching. i was playing  a youtube video behind the game (i have tried without it)  and the video stopped and lagged like cr@p. when the game launched i tried playing and it went smooth, and i was like yay! and then after 20 seconds it started lagging like f. help pls

things i've done: restart the pc, run a virus scan, turned down the settings.

before: 1920x1080 and 40fps avg

what cpu/gpu do you have?

May sound silly, but did you leave your PC on overnight? Whenever I leave my PC on for >10hrs the frame rate will go really low

ive got a amd athlon x4 750k and a xfx r7 260 and 8gb ballistix ram

Are you running two sticks of 4gb ram or just 1 stick of 8gb? Im thinking that if you're running two sticks, one of your sticks or slots may have a problem. If you're running one stick, have you tried moving it to another slot?
