I've had a bit of a problem with Windows using a TON of page file for quite a while, and I would like to get some answers.

So, I have my system set up to use a custom size for the page file on my SSD (just because otherwise my system get slow as balls). The initial size is 1024MB (1GB) and the maximum size is 4096MB (4GB). You know, because I have 12GB of RAM so I shouldn't really need that much page file.

But, I just played Minecraft, and I peaked at a little under 6GB of RAM (about 3 were Minecraft since I'm using shaders and a 32x32 texture pack), but my page file... It peaked at 9898MB. That's 9.8 GIGABYTES.

Why the actual fuck did Windows decide to use 5 gigs MORE than it's allowed to? I had TONS of RAM left for it to whore up, and it barely touched it.

because pagefile has it's use and if a piece of software absolutely needs pagefile, you can't do anything about it

missing access to page file can lead to abnormal behaviour from that software

what you could do, if you have a 2ndary HDD, set windows managed size on the HDD and none on the SSD
