I've got the Kingston HyperX 240GB SSD and it works great. It's fast and also looks nice.

It's best to have both; an SSD for the OS and frequently used programs and games and a HDD for other stuff like films, TV shows, other games etc.

This is $25 over but gives you a big SSD and 4GB GPU at the expense of the case mainly.

SSD all the way, you can easily add in a bigger hard drive in a few months for cheap.

SSD vs HDD? I'd go for a ~500GB SSD as a compromise between size and price whilst still getting SSD speeds.

I completely disagree, they're miles away from being a SSD

500gb ssds in Canada cost over $200 so he will be limited to 250gb or less for over $100 totally not worth it.
