How much performance will I gain

Kakashigamer

Hi guys this is my first post and I don't know if this is the right place so please tell me if i'm wrong!

So basicly my question is how much performance will I gain with buying a second Gpu.

Currently I'm running this setup:

Processor: Intel I5 4690k

Motherboard: Gigabyte z79x gaming 3

Graphics Card: Sapphire HD7950 Vapor-x OC 3GB

Cooler: Corsair H40 + 5 case fans

Storage: 1tb total hdd

Ram: 8GB Kingston Hyperx Fury 1600Mhz

So my thoughts were buying a second 7950 or one thats compatible with 7950 Crossfire.

I can get one for around €100-,.

Please give me your thoughts!

You might be better off selling the 7950 you have now and pooling the money together for 1 better over all card, SLI and crossfire doesn't scale all too well.

It really varies on how much time the developer takes into optimizing SLI/Crossfire, Tomb Raider for instance is really good at utilizing both GPUs, while some games like ARMA 3 don't support it as much. I have a 4gb 960 and I had 80FPS in BF4 on Ultra, When I added another I got an 40 FPS increase.

Thanks for the quick reply.

To be honest i just upgraded my cpu and motherboard(other died on me) so I'm kinda tight for money for a while.

and since I've seen 7950 selling for arround 80-100 Euro it would be my only option because I wont upgrade to a better single GPU for at least two years.

Sell your 7950 for around 100, then try to find a 380x on ebay or something.  Might be a little more but at least in the US it is around $230-240

I really appreciate your help but I dont want to buy one yet. I was just wondering how much it will improve my performance like for example in AC Syndicate. I can't find any good benchmarks with dual 7950  online for modern games.

If I were to add another should I be thinking of an improvement of 5fps, 10fps 40fps? some info like that would be really insightful for me.
