Is UserBenchmark reliable?

djdelarosa25

So I was deciding on what GPU to put in my crappy rig. I found two really old GPUs lying around, an 9400 GT and an HD 5450.

Based off of research, the HD 5450 is better. But after checking gpu.userbenchmark.com, it says that the 9400 GT is better.

http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GeForce-9400-GT-vs-AMD-Radeon-HD-5450/m7963vsm7719

Which should I pick? I only play CS:GO at 800x600 in ultra low settings. I've heard that AMD discontinued the drivers on the HD 5450 already, so would that make a difference in gaming?

from what I can find they're about on par with each other, but driver support is always a plus so if the 9400 has it I'd go with that

5450 is the slightly better potato.

userbenchmark is just as reliable as passmark.. which is not that reliable.

Userbenchmark is reliable but it's not a crystal ball.

Both of those GPUs are very very weak. Userbenchmark ranks them at within 10% of each other meaning one will do better in some games and the other better in other games. The only way you can know for sure is by finding benchmarks of both cards for CS:GO.

This Haswell iGPU beats the 9400 GT by 300%

Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT vs Intel HD 4600 (Desktop 1.25 GHz)
Userbenchmark Effective 3D Gaming GPU Speed: 2.02% vs 8.12%
Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT  - 392nd / 502
Intel HD 4600 (Desktop 1.25 GHz)  - 211th / 502

And a 970 wins by 4000%

Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT vs GTX 970
Userbenchmark Effective 3D Gaming GPU Speed: 2.02% vs 84%
Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT  - 392nd / 502
Nvidia GTX 970  - 11th / 502

So both of those cards are more or less at the bottom of the scale either way.
