For some reason, my computer seems to take longer than usual to boot up. Whenever I turn it on, I get the ASUS screen, but it stays like that for a whole minute before finally loading. When I try to access the BIOS, I have to keep mashing F2 the entire time, otherwise it boots straight into Windows. Do I need to update/flash my BIOS?

My setup:

Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor

Asus X99-A/USB 3.1 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard

Cooler Master Nepton 240M 76.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory

2x Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Western Digital BLACK SERIES 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Cooler Master N400 ATX Mid Tower Case

Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter

BIOS doesn't work like that. Like degrade and start working slower. Upgrading the BIOS is a bit of a risk to do so it should be your last resort. It's more likely that one of your devices is acting up. If you hit TAB during the full screen logo, you should be able to see what's going on. A bit brute but usually worth while trick is to unplug all the devices one by one to see which of them is causing it.

if there is a update available for the bios I'd suggest updating it.. with the EZflsah utility its a breeze and there is almost no risk involved at least i havent had a bad bios flash, utility or not.

second you could disable the "full screen logo" option in bios to not see the annoying asus logo at the start, set the post screen to appear for 3sec so you have time to mash DEL to get to the bios if needed, and maybe set usb devices to partial initialization during boot.

GPU drivers giving you a hard time? Try this! (DDU)
