Best MiniITX case

Ever had the issue of going round a friends house and your pc is just too big? I need your help to find the lightest and smallest miniITX case out on the market. I want it to be as portable as possible. I don't care for the type of case (miniITX, HTCP etc), but just let a mini itx mobo fit in it, let there be at least 1 ODD bay and 2 hard drive bays (or 1 ssd and 1 hdd). Following this, I will make a guide on the best portable gaming rig and will post usernames of the best cases

Choice #1 EVGA Hadron Air. Well, it uses a slot-load optical drive, but at least it has one. Two 3.5' HDD drive bays. Fits standard length 10.5' graphic card. Comes with a 500w gold rated 1U PSU. If you remove the HDD drive cage. It'll even fit a M-ATX mobo.

Choice #2 Lian Li PC-TU100. It even comes with a handle. Can only accept two 2.5' HDD. Uses slimline optical drive. Cooling is a concern, as it only has one 120mm intake fan. Also needs a SFX power supply.

If you want the lightest and smallest case while being extremely well build and spacious, the SilverStone RVZ02 is the best case ever.

it fits mITX boards, SFX power supplies (SilverStone has some really great SFX ones, even modular), and even full size dual slot GPU's. It can fit a single 3.5 inch hard drive if your GPU isn't insanely long, and can fit 2 2.5 inch SSD's. Goood storage capacity and also has a slimline optical drive bay.

The only drawback to this case is CPU Cooler clearance. It's still spacious, allowing nice Noctua or Cryorig Low Profile coolers, even some Cooler Master ones too.

Check out this case. I cannot stress enough how amazing it is. All the benefits of MITX but like tripled. It's the smallest of small while allowing amazing performance none-the-less.

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen

iPad Air 2 (for school)

iPhone 6

Xbox One Forza 6 Limited Edition Blue

Mkay...I was looking at the EVGA one...what does it mean with the optical drive?

Slot load optical drive is harder to find and expensive. A slimline optical drive is $20, while a slot load is $60-70. I don't use optical drive often. If I need, just get a $30 external.

What do you think about the Lian Li one? I was looking at it for the handle. But I was looking at the evga one because it includes a power supply. Which one do you prefer?

I myself have the EVGA Hadron air. It can fit decent sized CPU cooler(up to 140mm tall). My biggest problem is the fan of the PSU. It's very quiet when idling, but turns jet engine when gaming. I replaced it with NoiceBlocker SilentPro PM-2 fan. Also the PSU cables are rainbow-ugly as hell. I sleeve them all myself.

The Lian Li can only fit short graphic card. And I believe the CPU cooler is limited to 60mm tall. So you can't put a very powerful system inside. But this case is really small.

So for the Lian Li, could I put a one fan gtx 970 or maybe an r9 nano?

None of those cases are available in australia. Any other suggestions?

It doesn't fit some of your requirements, mainly being the ODD bay, but the Silverstone Sugo SG13 isn't a bad case. I've got a full sized ATX PSU in my build with it, and whilst cable management is a bitch, that's sort of expected with small cases. I definitely would have paid a bit more for it to be better quality, but it's quite a cheap case. I'm using 2x 2.5" storage devices. I think the case can fit a single 3.5" drive.

It can also fit in a relatively large motorcycle back pack if that's helpful.

What about the Corsair 250d?

I used to own one. Very nice case. Aweseome build quality. AND it kept my 290 Tri-X fairly cool. Really impressive for mITX.....but on the other hand it is on the bigger side of things.

Nonetheless, it is a great case for what it is. And definitely good for water- as well as air-cooling.
