Need help with getting laptop

Hi there everyone. My dads birthday is coming up and his current laptop is crap. I was hoping to get some help on which laptop I could get him within the $300-400 range. All he does on his laptop is use Microsoft word, email, Internet, and YouTube. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

This looks like the best performing laptop in the price range.  Broadwell i3 (i3-5010U) and a 500gb HDD should be sufficient for word and browsers

 

It's on sale from 499 down to 370. Good deal atm. 

 

 

HP Pavilion p007tx (i5 4210u, gt840m, 8GB DDR3 memory and a 1 TB HDD that makes cool sounds when booting up) 

Since my laptop can't run modern games too well I use a PS4
