I recently tried to upgrade my OS on my old desktop, so i created a bootable USB disk and tried to boot from it.As soon as it restarts there is just a blank screen with a blinking cursor.I tried using a optical disk but there was no improvement.I have already tried changing the software used to create the bootable drive.I have tried with different ISO files.I have checked my BIOS and have allowed to boot from USB devices, I also  tried setting my boot preference first to usb. Please help me out guys!?

Then the problem must reside in your current parts.

The hard disk might be too old and requires changing, wiping the drive to make way for a new OS might be the last straw for it.

This problem was there with the old HDD, but recently i upgraded to a 2TB seagate HDD, even then it gives out the same issue.

If you've tried multiple devices, multiple ports, multiple ISO's, you're positive BIOS is set to USB and USB booting is enabled, and you're using RUFUS to make the boot drive, there's not much else you can do.

Go through the entire process again and verify each step to isolate what's at fault.

Well! I did try all these and there was no improvement! But if i do run the setup directly on windows it does run and it does install the os.

What are you using to create the boot media?

not much more i can think of , im sure you have tried resetting the bios, it seems to be a hardware issue if you already put the os on the hard drive and it still doesn't boot up. sorry
