led modding

Sharon24

i want to put in my aquarium LED lighting

i found that the CAR led modules will fit except they running at 12v

there any way to run them from 5v without voltage buck boost? or 12v battery?

Not really, no. It's highly unlikely that the LEDs would have such a large range of operating voltages. LEDs can have it, sure, but if it's a proprietary unit, they've probably opted for the cheaper LEDs with narrower range. Why not just get a 12V AC/DC adapter for it?

If it is a must they run at 5V there are 5V based LED strips that are mainly used for plug in USB type connections.
