500USD school/AutoCAD computer

pomtree

So, I've been watching Linus's videos for a while now, and would like to build myself a computer, mostly for school, programming, and AutoCAD mechanical, which needs more then 8GB of RAM to run smoothly.  I would like to keep it under 500 US dollars, would like a quad core, mouse, keyboard, and preferably 2 monitors, and a SSD, but don't need a hard drive or OS. I am located in the US and don't mind buying used. Thanks for the help everyone!

For the computer itself, you are lucky to get something new and as powerful as you want. Try looking for old dell t5500's on ebay. They have slightly older hardware, but are inexpensive and have ddr3.

My native language is C++

It is possible... But more in the range of 600-700... I would recommend getting nearly everything used... With the exception being HDD's and PSU..

Look at getting something like this list... but get as much of it as you can used.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($244.99 @ SuperBiiz)

(might have to buy this new)

Motherboard: ASRock H97M PRO4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($62.98 @ Newegg)

(easy to find a motherboard like this for under the $50 mark used.)

Memory: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($53.99 @ Amazon)

Again, Used you could find it for $35.

Storage: PNY CS1211 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($59.00 @ Newegg)

(Again, find a used one for the $35-40 Range)

Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 380 4GB PCS+ Video Card  ($188.89 @ OutletPC)

(Try and find a used 290, It will be around the $100 mark.)

Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($29.99 @ Newegg)

(Might want to buy new to make the entire PC just look better.)

Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($59.99 @ Newegg)

Would Highly recommend not buying used PSU... as they degrade overtime and can destroy your entire system is you buy a faulty one.

Monitor: Acer G226HQLBbd 60Hz 21.5" Monitor  ($89.99 @ Amazon)

(Find any 1920X1080p monitors) Looking at $60 each...
Monitor: Acer G226HQLBbd 60Hz 21.5" Monitor  ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $879.81
