Hey, i am looking to upgrade my computer

right now, these are the specs

GPU: 6870

CPU: AMD Phenom ii x4 940

Motherboard: Asus M3A-78T

Ram: 4GB DDR2

So i am looking to upgrade it, as i mentioned but i want some suggestions to what to upgrade,

i have a 400$ budget, in Canadian and have windows 10 right now, heard something about that and needing to buy a new copy or something.

So can i get some advice? Thanks!

Are you gaming or doing something else? If you're just gaming I would recommend holding off until you can afford a GPU upgrade as well.

And yes, you could potentially need a new windows license if you have an OEM key, although you can sometimes transfer OEM keys as well with the help of Microsoft.

Yeah, i am just gaming

the gpu is holding fairly well right now, in GTA 5 the most demanding game i have the CPU usage is max but the gpu seems to be only 50-60%

Well, then go with something like this and then just upgrade the GPU when you get a chance/decide you need more power.

yeah definetly an intel i5 upgrade...i5-4460 and H97 if money is really low...otherwise i5-6500 and H170 and if money is no problem i5-6600K and Z170,,,you will want a GPU upgrade soon after look for GTX 970 or R9 390 (used GTX 780/780ti or R9 290/290X also viable options) or wait for next gen GPU's.
