Of course! However you have to ensure that the SSD gets enough power over USB or else you wont get anything. See if you can find an enclosure like that with an extra USB connector for power.

I was thinking of buying this Samsung 850 Evo SSD below and also the anker 2.5 inch ssd usb 3.0 enclosure below could i with these create a portable ssd

i haven't had any problems with Anker products.before i even bought a laptop battery for my month old laptop about 4 years ago the funny thing is the battery lasted longer than the laptop

or you could get a box and an adapter off ebay or something for a total of about $2, this will look better but just in case you want to save money i thought i would say something here :)

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

id rather go with a good quality solution as i dont want to go through the hassle of RMAs due to doggy adapters

yah i thought so, just thought i should give a budget option too :)
