Dedicated mute button for microphone?

So i have a condenser microphone hooked up to a phantom power supply which then connects to my mic jack on my computer. I want to use a headphone/microphone setup instead of a headset. I was wondering if there was some sort of way to mute the microphone when i want it to.

Most recording/streaming/VoIP software has options for you to set a key to mute and deafen yourself.

I use Mumble, TeamSpeak, and OBS on occasion and all three of these have options to bind mute to a key on the keyboard.
