I received my HyperX Cloud II headset today and after owning the first edition of the headset a good while ago, which I was very happy with, I thought I would try them out and was not ready to be disappointed with them.

1. When I first plugged them in, I noticed a very loud "hissing/fuzzy" background noise coming from them, this was present while no sound was being played and also while sound/music is being played, at my desired volume. (One good thing in this note is I managed to fix the hissing/background noise while I was NOT playing any sound/music by turning down the volume on the USB DAC by 2 clicks and disabling all "sound enhancements" within Windows sound control panel)

2. Which then leads to m my next point, so while there is sound coming through the headset, all I hear in the back of it and in the background of music is "hisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss"..... So DAMN annoying. Is this normal or what? Because I don't remember hearing this in the first pair of the HyperX Clouds. (I specifically chose the HyperX Cloud II's because of the better microphone, and because I owned the first Cloud's before) I also tried out the headset on my phone without the USB DAC and it's the same problem, hissing in the background.

So if anyone has any knowledge of this or own's a pair of Cloud II's themselves, please let me know!

Thanks! :)

I don't own any DAC/AMP, I'm just using the one that comes with the headset otherwise the headset wire will not reach my PC.

I is the same mic as on the Cloud and Cloud Core, that "noise cancellation" is software-based on the USB dongle, nothing more. You can achieve the same results from your mobo's onboard audio by going to recording properties and selecting "Noise Suppression" or whatever option is available for you for that.

As for the hissing, take off the USB dongle and connect the Y-splitter that should have come in the packaging and connect mic/headphone to your motherboard's audio ports. See if that helps get rid of the hissing.
