Hello everyone,

I am looking at an M.2 SSD for my next build (Kingston HyperX SHPM2280P2/240G 240 GB,) to be exact.

Looking at the numbers it seems like quite a difference between M.2's and normal SSD's. Do you think its worth almost twice to price though?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the vid - seems to make a very good point.

One thing is not clear to me though:

Alot of M.2's seems to have the same Read/Write speeds as normal SSD'S (about 540/490) -> obviosly this wont make much of a difference.

The Kingston HyperX has 1400/600 though -> this will still not be noticable?

The one he is testing (samsung SM951) has 2000/600 read/write and that's only the low end model, 128GB. The larger capacity ones have even faster speeds (on paper)... And he says that there is no difference.

IMO it's not worth the extra money. The same as super expensive high frequency RAM... you cannot notice the difference between 2133mhz and 3200mhz for example.
