Both are reliable, but blacks are overpriced for what they are. I'd be comparing a WD Blue to the barracuda.

Both are very reputable brands.  My Seagate has been cranking for going on 4-5 years, but I also have a Western Digital in my old computer, that is still cranking along for much longer.
