Need Help Installing Printer On Network

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

you first need to set an fixed IP address for the printer themselves

it will be in the printer settings page.

your router should have some sort of printer server feature as well if you can find it

that way your printer could also be connected to the router

so that you dont need to set any IP if you are not sure

A family member of mine got a new windows 10 laptop and we have a few printers on the network that I can't figure out how to install onto the computer so we can print stuff from the laptop through the wireless network. We have 2 printers the main printer we use is a old HP LaserJet 2420 printer and the second printer is a Epson WF-2540. Both printers are connected to the network via a wired connection directly into our router and the old HP LaserJet uses a HP Jettdirect 510x adapter to connect to the wired network. My router is a TP-Link N600 Wireless N router. I'm having a lot of confusion on how to get these two printers connected to the laptop and was wondering if someone can tell me how to get these printers working with this new laptop

Have you tried the built in "Add Printer" from the Devices and Printers panel? There is an option to scan the network and find the printers. If that doesn't work, go to the manufacturers websites and check for Windows 10 drivers.

Based on the OP and the pictures, they are already set up as network printers. The Jetdirect thing IS a print server and the Epson printer has one built-in.

oh i see

well we need to be sure what IP did he set those printers are

192.168.1.xx will be different subnet if he sets the printers to be on 192.168.2.xx

the PC will not be able to see them
