Compatibility Question.

Super quick, hopefully easy question, I would just like  to know if say a computer running quickbooks was on Windows 10 Pro and another computer was on Windows 7 Pro would they still be able to talk to eachother and share the multi-user setup of Quickbooks.

 

Currently two computers on our network share a Quickbooks server and are both able to access the Quickbooks Company File at the same time. Does this networking still stand if we were to upgrade the main machine to windows 10? I have been researching this myself for a couple days but haven't found a definitive answer to the question itself.

 

TL;DR,

with one computer running Quickbooks on Windows 10 pro, and the other using Windows 7 Pro would It still be able to talk to the Windows 10 machine and access the Company File?

 

 

Reasoning:

The machine that would not be upgraded is only because the hardware it has would likely suffer performance wise on the newer OS just due to its old age. We plan on eventually upgrading this older machine's hardware with a new build, but for the time being that isn't a choice.

As long as both of them are running the same version of QuickBooks or whatever, I don't think it matters what OS you're on. I couldn't say definitively though because I don't know, but it makes sense that it would still work.
