Hi, I would like to ask for advice or recommendations for my first build. I'm aiming for just game mid to high settings with good upgrade path. My budget is not more than $600 USD. Reason for upgrade: Currently using an E7500 and HD4600... nuff said. Here are the parts and their current price converted to USD.

intel i3 4170
Asus B85 Pro Gamer (bundle at $224)
Asus Strix R7 370 2GB ($162)
8GB Crucial Ballistix 1866 ($39)
128GB Avexir V1 SSD ($36)
500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue ($44)
Tecware Alpha Black ATX ($47)
Aerocool Strike X 80+ Bronze 500W ($44)

Total = $596

I'm planning on adding another card that can be crossfired with the R7 in the future, would that option be better than buying another much powerful card?

Thanks in advance for the help, sorry im just a noob lol :)

Go for a PowerColor R9 380 4G - costs around 170$ but is 40% faster

With @don_svetlio comment it looks good.  You might be able to sneak in a 1TB hard drive instead of a 500gb for like 10-20 bucks more but if it's not necessary for you then thats fine.

I also just noticed the hideous PSU - get an XFX 550W for 50$

I was planning to go with R9 but unfortunately there aren't much to choose from here in the Philippines. They range from 200+ USD and buying online would still cost more I think?

You have to check. Do get a better PSU though - get a SeaSonic S12II 520W

Alright, I'll check and get a better PSU.

Do you think that the mobo + cpu deal is good enough? or should i just buy a much cheaper mobo and add the extra cash to the GPU?

You can get away with a cheaper board - that CPU is hardly demanding

What board would you recommend in particular?

MSI H81-P33 is a cheap one that is functional.
