Not currently if you buy all this stuff new or at MSRP.

You could get close to $2000 if you get good deals on used parts and swap for cheaper parts.

Can it be built? Yes

Should it be built? No

For Gaming, you can do way better going with a motherboard half the price, a 6700k (roughly the same price as the 5820k) and a 980Ti which will all-in-all beat this system for a fraction of the cost and hastle.

Asked if it could be built for $2000, with the parts he wants at this moment it cannot.

Yes, but you would need to make some cuts. Try the following

1. 8GB of ram instead of 16GB (Also slightly lower speed)

2. If you don't need 6TB of storage try 3TB and maybe a 500GB SSD. Once again depends on your needs.

3. Remove the optical drive. You can have a PC without one. But if you need one then fair enough. Also that is a expensive optical drive in my opinion there are cheaper options.

4. You don't need 1000W try around 800W you will save some money.

5. Lower your motherboard budget a bit unless you really need this motherboard with all it features and glory. Making sure it supports water-cooling, DDR4, etc.

More cuts can be made but it depends how low you want to go. For example Maybe a 980TI is better than 2 R9 390X price wise and performance. It depends on a lot of variables.

(I chose the 850w PSU since it only costs $20 more than the 650w one so it has more headroom for a future 980ti sli.)

I looked at your build , if you can spend that much money than this one is better solution than that.

First this i7 5820k support max 28 PCI e lanes, so you have to SLI it 2x8 PCI e slot, plus it's memory bandwidth is up to 2133 and not only that when you are buying RAM with higher frequency than it's latency ( response time ) is also high, so they almost cancel out each other. So normally DDR4 2133 has CAS 15 and DDR4 3000 also has CAS 15 so if you are comparing this 2 ram theoretically 3000 should perform better but that will be small. You choose DDR4 3200 with CAS 16 and i replaced that with DDR4 2133 CAS 13. I also remove 5TB HDD and 1TB HDD and replace it with 2TB HDD and 500Gb SSD and save around $300 because you don't need that much huge storage. If you are monster of storage hunger and have huge data than i will recommend to use external hard drive because you are not going to need all the data all time. So if you need some extra data you will be able to get it from external storage and you can your data where ever you want. And don't need to waste your money on very high end motherboard , that's why i replaced ASUS delux with MSI krait and save money around $150 because motherboard doesn't play any role in the performance of the PC, so any decent MoBo from any good brand is enough . And spend that saved money on 2x980Ti. GTX 980 is better than R9 390X and i have choose 980Ti so no question about performance. And i also took care of black and white theme. And when you are doing SLI config both heat and power consumption increase although 1000w is OK but i will go with 1200W and it is 1200w 80+platinum certified.
