basic checking

1. remove the key and brush the dirt out and return the key back and try it if not proceed to step 2

2. (requires disassembly) remove the keyboard then clean the contact ribbon cable using eraser then put it back in

and test it again if not proceed to step 3

3. contact a technician or order a new keyboard

laptop keyboard die for some reasons since I have experienced repairing an Hp elitebook that has a keyboard

issue I do these steps in order to make it functional before step 3

 

But if you don't have the money to buy a new one buy an external usb keyboard :)
