Simple as the title, just looking to upgrade my graphics card and eventually CPU for Fallout 4/Rise of Tomb Raider and other current/soon to release titles!

280x should still be able to handle those titles quite well actually. Wait for Polaris and pascal would be my suggestion.

If you can't wait for Polaris/Pascal, then:

If your budget is $300+ go 390x or 980ti depending on your specifics.

If it's $200-300 go 380x.

Under $200 go used 290x.

I actually get  average 40/50 with frequent drops to 20/30. On low. Any suggestions for increasing that?

I don't see why an upgrade is needed...

Anywhere from low to ultra, for the most part low does increase frames but not by an insane degree. CPU is 6300, but I've been told that the CPU wasn't much of a problem.  500W Bronze EVGA PSU. Temps run normal, nothing excessive.

That´s quite strange actually. What settings are you playing at? What´s your cpu? PSU? Temps?

Everything is also at normal clock with stock fan, do you suggest a better PSU and CPU cooler and just OC? My mobo is pretty low brow.

I´d say you might want to look into upgrading the psu, but my friend actually has the exact same one with a 280x, so you don´t have to worry about too much right now. I´d say look into upgrading your platform into an intel one. Possibly might be the cpu holding you back.

Balls, was hoping to avoid it. Built an AMD system since it was so cheap, and already have to switch to intel. :P

Do you recommend any sort of intel builds then?

Was planning to give the 280x to my bro after I got a new GPU, he needs one for his build since he's sitting on some crappy like R5 or something I think.

What is your budget? if it is around $200 you would be getting the same performance as your 280x.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Eh, I5 if you can budget for it. You won´t have to change everything, just the cpu and mobo. Not too much to it.

Do you think buying a cooler, a case, and PSU and just overclocking would hold me for now? Those are all things I needed anyway, and if there's a chance I can just OC it and be okay for a bit I might just go with that. With Fallout4 mod tool coming out april too I'm trying to get it as up to snuff as I can xD

It's roughly 300, just trying to look at the best way to get performance in my build whilst helping him build his :) Hand-me-down parts, if you will.

Depends on your motherboard. Unless it´s an 990, I wouldn´t recommend ocing it.

Gotcha. And no point getting a new MOBO to OC since switching to intel. Well shit, only way out is to switch to intel and that means a whole lot more waiting. @.@

R9 390 then

but its not a huge jump at around 30% better up to you really.
