I was wondering if there is software out there for Windows that can allow you to control the logic for fans. I am thinking about picking up a USB AC Infinity MULTIFAN S4 140MM external fan- but really only want it to kick on when the temp of my internal thermals hits a certain threshold.

Am I talking crazy here or is there a solution for this? Thanks in advance.

You want to put an external fan inside your case? Or you just want it to turn on when it gets warmer in your case?

Neither make much, if any sense to me.

No, it will stay external connected via USB. I just want it to kick on under heavy load without me literally having to bend down to turn it on. I just need a software solution that would help me build that logic.

Automate everything.

Could you explain why you want to use external fan in first place? What it is for?

As for question, USB provides 5V. Thats slowest speed that normal PC fan with 3pin connector will run anyway. There are no software which would control fan using USB connection. There are two solution which use internal USB connector and allow connecting multiple 3pin normal PC fans. These two have software utilities. They are NZXT Grid+ and Corsair Commander Mini.
