Hello everyone, I have lurked on LTT youtube channel for some years. And I never really came to the forums until now. But I come to the great people of LTT forums to ask some questions and hopefully get some really useful answers and suggestions to the questions. "What should I upgrade next?!"

Now I am not a crazy must run ultra on every game possible. I mainly play League of Legends, use OBS to stream League of Legends, MMO's such as GW2, WoW, and the newest addition, Black Desert Online. The reason I mentioned this, is to give a small and quick background on the kind of gamer I am. Now to my current PC specs.

My PC.

GPU: GeForce GTX 760

CPU: Intel i5-4590k CPU @ 3.50Ghz

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8.00 GB Ram DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory

Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5

PSU: 600 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply

Storage: 120GB Kingston SSD / 1.5tb HD

OS: Win 10

Case: NZXT h440 black

I just recently got the CPU (months ago) and I am going to get a nice AIO, or air cooler to eventually. Then get a good OC going and boost that sucker. But my main concern is that I have a older GPU and I want to get up to speed with graphic cards. I really wanted the GTX 980, but that is still at a high Dollar amount (roughly around $580). I don't want to be the person to skimp out on performance but I also don't want to ruin my bank account, still being a college student, paying for bills and etc. My next option was getting either the AMD Radeon r9 390 or the r9 390x , reason being, it is almost $200 cheaper than the GTX 980 and the r9 390(x) will only be a few FPS under that.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I am really looking into getting a better GPU, but if anyone has any other suggestions on what to do with my current build, let me know :)

I was going to ask my parents to split the cost for my 21st B-day in march so cost doesnt matter, but I don't want to break their wallets. Prefer under the $450 range.

I was going to say get another stick of ram if you can, but if you've been think so much of gpus do you need more frames on something? Any problems with the gpu?

Should I get a different kind of Ram? like a higher Mhz??

Nah you don't need a higher MHZ I was just thinking maybe you might want more, say you play some RAM intensive games or something else of the likes. It's always nice to have legroom if you can afford it so to speak.

True, if that is the case. I can easily purchase some more sticks on my own. It won't cost that much.

Sorry missed the specs, I would get a 980/R9 390X you will be fine with your RAM for now, I'll upgrade it once games start asking for more than 8GB.

No worries, I think I am going to get the R9 390X. More cost efficient IMO. And should bring up a very good performance to the build.

I am not sure, with my h440 case there is the PSU cage area that is blocked off and I cannot see it without opening up the case and I am heading off to work in a few minutes. I had this PSU for almost 4 -5 years since it was in the first PC I built. It's not modular what so ever so eventually I would need to upgrade that sucker. But with my current components would I need to upgrade my PSU to handle the R9 390x?
