I'm really stuck on this because my house tends to get little bit hot during the summer(4th floor apartment) and AMD uses more power therefore creating more heat, but they're also cheaper.

so my question is, what is the brand you recommend for gaming with the situation described as above, and if it's AMD, what APU(?) and motherboard you guys recommend? thanks in advance

I think you need to add more info.

like

whats your MAX budget?

what will this pc's primary use be?

what case do you plan to put it into?(how good is the airflow)

Smite pretty much has the perfect suggestion there.

only thing I'd add is check to see if there's a microcenter near you, they have great intel cpu pricing and i3/i5/FX + motherboard combo deals.sometimes only i5/i7.

If you want to use this for gaming, you'll be hard pressed to spend a bit of money on a new graphics card rather than on a new CPU & mobo .

You will see massive gains in FPS if you upgrade your graphics card. Upgrading from 550 Ti to a 7870 (220$) will more than double your FPS in real-world scenarios.

thanks for the help guys!!! I was going to buy the MSI Z77A-GD55(has a free offer for Corsiar Vengeance 8GB RAM). buit I'll consider buyin\g another motherboard to go along with the 3570K!!! thanks again

P.S: I think I'll wait for the graphics card a bit for the prices to drop down more.

Yup...I was gonna say Microcenter since they even have some AMD/Motherboard combos where the motherboard is free with the purchase of certain AMD processors, worth checking out for somewhat budgeted builds.

AMD Radeon R9 290X / AMD FX-8320 / Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 / Samsung 830 128GB / Seagate 7200RPM 3TB / Corsair HX 850W / BitFenix Shinobi XL / CPU & GPU Watercooled - Thick Triple 360 Rad

For 400$ you can have your cake and eat it !

FX 6300 :130$

Asrock Extreme3 : 85$

Gigabyte Windforce HD 7850 2GB : 195$

Total 410$

7850 average FPS across all games tested on 1920x1080 = 117 FPS

550 Ti average FPS across all games tested on 1920x1080 = 61 FPS , 7850 is almost twice as fast .

FX 6300 has all the processing power you will ever need .

If $400 is your budget for m/board and CPU you should be able to get a happy medium setup, however don't expect to have super amazing rig for that price, but still a good one is possible.

Its personal preference if your going with mid range components, you also should figure out if all your other older components fit the new ones.

You should be able to pick up a 6 core CPU and board for that price, what spec are you running now??

got to love Asus components
