Hey, I just watched the Ubiquity $150 long range WiFi setup video. I have bought a similar setup from Ubiquity, I forget the exact model. It is a long range\non-line of sight ~20km range as well. My question is if anybody has the experience and a few tips of actually setting up one of these systems when you can't actually see the target? First of all can anybody recommend a website or app that could be useful to figure out line of sight on a map or how to use a real map and a compass? I've used a combination of Google maps and other websites to get an idea, but at 15k it doesn't take much to be completely off. I have much more details on the things that iv tried but I really think that I might be missing something simple. I've also found other websites that show topographical data and used the elevation data to the best of my knowledge.

https://www.radiolabs.com/products/wireless/900-mhz-wireless-bridge-link.php all the specs are on this link. Its been awhile since i last tried getting it to work. I'm sure it operates on airOS. Im sure i have the units set up correctly as far as following the initial setup configuration, at close enough range i can see the network activity lights up. The units are about 15k apart, and i have found a website that shows the elevation difference. I am pretty sure i am on the right track to getting it working but havnt been able to do so. Any tips would be helpful, my next step might have to be to drive around at Half distance or so and try to find the signal.

If it helps, I have set up many satellite systems like bell and star choice or whatever they are called now. I know with mini-dish systems once you have the correct elevation of the physical dish it is only a matter of simply swinging the dish side to side slowly to find the satellite, could this same tactic be used. May be there is a tool that can make finding the signal easier, or any tips that could help, like a 20km long string? That was a joke.
