I'm thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard. I currently have the azio levetron clicker and it's not horrible, but it's time to upgrade so something good. I've narrowed my choices down to the ducky shine 2, and the razer blackwidow ultimate 2013, neither of which is exactly what i'm looking for. The razer blackwidow ultimate 2013 sounds great but has a green back light which doesn't match the rest of my stuff, and I've also heard it has some shotty quality. The ducky shine 2 looks great but doesn't have the USB and mic jacks. Is there anything with the best of both worlds(cherry mx blues with USB and mic jacks, an maybe blue back light)?

Even though Rosewill is the in house brand for Newegg. I personally use of their keyboards and I have found they are excellent and have all the features you are looking for besides the audio jacks. You can always get a long pass through for the ports anyway since that's all the keyboard does anyway.

From what I know personally of razer, their membrane keyboards are garbage, their mice range from meh to garbage (used a naga for 3 years), and their headsets are garbage. But their blackwidows have held up well in my personal experience and that of friends using it. I enjoy their design, the aligning the f keys with the W is something i can't live without any more, and blue switches are my personal preference when it comes to typing and gaming. I'm not saying it's the best, as I have almost no experience with mechanicals besides razer and filco. I just wouldn't rule it out.

If you desperately want blues, blue led, and passthroughs, the old version of the blackwidow ultimate has all that as well.

Maybe this Q-pad. http://www.corporate.qpad.se/modules/news/article.php?storyid=238

I think you will probably be pretty dang happy with the ducky if its just the audio and usb ports holding your back. As long as the keyboard is good at being a keyboard you can find other solutions for extra audio and usb ports and still have an excellent experience.

If you are going mechanical go for either a Ducky, Filco, Das Keyboard, or Cooler Master.

been using an Abyssus and loved it ever since. Wouldn't swap it for any other although it's the cheapest mouse in their arsenal.

The engineer in me says go with any keyboard you like. The passthrough problem can be solved by buying an extension cable for ur usb and audio jacks.

jokes aside, think i remember Das Keyboards have a model with both the audio and usb passthroughs

I am not really a mechanical keyboard specialist, but I do own one myself. I own the Corsair K90 Vengeance. The revised 2013 version (post CES) has full mechanical and backlit (I'm not exactly sure if that is on the market quite yet actually... but I have the older version anyhow and it is good). The built quality is very good, delivering typical Corsair quality. The overall aesthetics are also quite pleasing, so I find it quite suitable to me. I hope it is the same for you. Keyboard searching is a very mind boggling task. Always see if there is a in-store display that you can go test out, although you may not be in vicinity of such a store. Anyhow, if you find one that you are comfortable typing with and you like, go for it!
